MedAssets, Inc. was founded in June 1999 by John Bardis, the Company's Chairman, President and CEO. We are headquartered in Alpharetta, Georgia, approximately 25 minutes north of downtown Atlanta.
MedAssets' initial public offering (IPO) commenced on December 12, 2007, with the Company offering approximately 15.3 million shares at a price of $16.00 per common share. The stock began trading on the NASDAQ Global Select Stock market on December 13th, and the IPO was formally completed on December 18, 2007.
MedAssets' common stock can be purchased or sold through a stockbroker, registered financial advisor or financial institution that offers brokerage services. We do offer an employee stock purchase plan, but do not offer a direct stock purchase plan for those not employed by the Company. Therefore, external and unaffiliated individuals cannot purchase MedAssets shares directly from the Company.

MedAssets does not currently pay a cash dividend on the common stock. Any future payment of dividends, if any, is subject to the discretion of the board of directors and will depend on many factors.
MedAssets' fiscal year begins on January 1 and ends on December 31. By quarter:
First Quarter: January 1 - March 31
Second Quarter: April 1 - June 30
Third Quarter: July 1 - September 30
Fourth Quarter: October 1 December 31
